Survivor 16:5 Micronesia minicap Part 2 - Idols and Idles

Picking up where I left off (before the tears), the Micronesians are headed to the Airai camp, blah blah blah, you know the score. Fishing and crabbing and eating, oh my.

More interesting is the pairing of Jason and Chet on Exile Island. Chet decides Ozzy probably already found the idol, so he'll just do nothing (so totally out of his nature, doncha know?). Jason figures it's worth a shot, and follows the clues to where they lead....which, of course, is to the fake idol Ozzy made. Yes, it is little more than a stick with a smile, looking like the Golden Flute from HR Pufnstuf's sad wooden brother. But Jason seems to buy into it. He vows to hold on tight and tucks it into his pants. (You're on your own with that one.)

Immunity Challenge. In this one, two members of the tribe are moved across the water on these little poles, and then the entire tribe has to climb and balance on a tower with their feet on or above the platform. James does an awesome job, basically carrying the poles with Eliza and Parvati to the platform single handedly. His tribe wins easily, and Malakal heads back to tribal.

And then the plan crumbles. Erik and Tracy seem to believe that, if Ozzy has the idol, now is the time to take him out - when he's feeling so confident he won't even think to use it. Ami seems to be on board, but then Chet decides he wants out. He announces that, and even a last ditch begging session by his original alliance mates can't get him to change his mind. Without his vote, the Ozzy blindside is a no go, and Chet gets his wish, leaving long after he should have.

Amazing how much Jonathan wanted to stay, and how Chet wanted to go just as much. I mean, couldn't the guy stick around and vote for Ozzy....then quit? At least he would have helped his tribe. Ah, but we already know that's against his nature, too!
