Minicap episode 9 Part One MERGE!

Last week on Survivor Malakal continues losing. Ami scrambles to save her life, but Erik fills the Favorites in on her previous scheming, including breaking the cardinal sin "Thou Shalt Not Plot Against Ozzy." Despite a teary plea, Ami is sent packing. Who will go next? Back at camp, the Favorites mull Ami's ouster while Erik ponders his fate, noting it's the first time the Favorites chose a fan over one of their own. He hopes the merge comes soon.

Over on Airai, the newly-aligned Eliza and Jason (known as the Annoying Alliance) are hoping Erik was voted off and Ami will join with them after the merge. Why couldn't they just join with Erik? They never explain. What does come out though, is that Jason has the hidden immunity idol. (Or an unreasonable facsimile, heh.) Eliza is thrilled she just lucked into this power partnership. I think her luck is running out.

Treemail the next morning proves that Erik should give up the ice cream scooping business and become a psychic friend. Yep, the merge is on. The tribes pack up and row to some unnamed destination, where they learn the merge is on. They have to pick a new name, choose a beach to live on ("Malakal all the way!" cheers Amanda) and enjoy a feast. You would think this is a good thing, but then again you would think the feast wouldn't include a bowl of cooked bats. EWWW! James is hungrier than he looks, because he digs right in and eats one of the nasty rodents, pulling it apart like chicken and declaring it as tasty as a juicy rabbit. Seriously, I'd expect this to be a challenge meal, not a merge celebration.

While James licks his fingers and goes for two, Erik suggests the new tribe take the name "Dabu" which means "good" in Micronesian. Everyone is "dabu" with this....except the Micronesians, who would know Erik totally made up the whole thing. Isn't he a clever boy? That must be what scoopers do in the winter, when ice cream isn't in demand.
